Things that make me Smile :-)

Last weekend Jeremy went out and bought us a couple webcam's for when he is working in Mexico. So we can talk and see each other via the great invention of technology! We used it for the first time this week, after Jer went to Mexico. The first time we used it, his sound worked (although he said I sounded like a chipmunk.....so I guess it didn't really work....), and then we tried again the next night, and I could hear him just fine, but he couldn't hear anything. So we sort of got it working, if we can figure out the sound issue. So he will call me on my cell phone, and we talk on the phone, and can see each other on the computer. It's still pretty cool.

The kids got to talk to daddy last night via webcam. They were a little confused at first, how daddy was on the computer, but were very excited to see him!

Isaiah kept getting closer and closer to the screen, almost like he was wanting to sit on his daddys lap or something! Then they kept wanting to touch him on the screen. It was funny, in the pic below, Isaiah was saying "tickle tickle" trying to tickle daddy on the screen. :-)

What a great invention. We loved seeing daddy all the way from Mexico! :-) Yes, that makes me SMILE :-)

True Story Tuesday

So last night we took a family shopping trip to Target. Yes, those are just oh-so-much fun! {dripping with sarcasm}. After browsing the toy aisle, trying to get hints out of Isaiah of what he wants for his birthday, I "conveninetly" lost Jer and the kids in the store. (ooops! how did that happen?) They proceeded to get some groceries, and I went on the other side of the store avoiding the kids, to shop. We met up again at the registers, where I was told they were not on their best behavior (no way!!!!), and they each earned a spanking when we got home. Nothing new here.

So we got home and sent the kids up to their rooms to sit on their beds, while Jer and I unloaded the car. After grabbing our spanking tool of choice, "The Spoon", we headed upstairs for our famouse "talk and spankings" with the kids. Lilly was first. After her talk, Jer proceeded to spank her once. It was then that she turned around with a big smile on her face and said "that didn't hurt!". Then we noticed that Lilly's pants were, shall we say, cushier, than normal. Turns out, the little rugrat sweetie had put on a pair of jeans, her sweats and some pants. Three pairs of pants this girl had on!!! You have got to be kidding me. This was a first. She thought she'd wise up on us. She had us there for a minute, until she looked a little too happy after her spanking and we figured it out. What on earth are we going to do with her?!
Oh, and for those wondering, yes, she did end up getting another spanking for pulling that trick, and got a spanking with just her underwear on. Um, lots of tears that time - no more smiles. Hopefully she won't do that again.
Although it did give Jer and I a good laugh later. Out of earshot of Lilly, or course.

Kiss or Diss

I'm starting a new blog topic-- Kiss or Diss! Courtesy of my friend, Evie! She started this on her blog, and invited me to join along. :-) Evie is an awesome friend, we went to high school together and would occassionaly visit each others churches, and unfortunately lost touch after we graduated. Never forgot her though! We found each other again awhile back on facebook. (after graduating high school TEN years ago! holy cow! am I really getting that old???). Anyways, she has her own photography business now, and shoots some pretty cool shots. You should check her out at her photography website. Or you could check out her personal blog. Specifically, she started a Kiss or Diss section to her blog. Now I don't have a cool picture to go with it, like Evie does, but I'll have to work on that! =) In the meantime, here is my tackle on it......

This weeks kisses go to.........

*it being Friday!! duh! ;)
*Jer and I having a date tonight! And what better place to go to than to the Olive Garden!
*went to the OB dr yesterday - I've only gained 10 pounds so far this pregnancy! And I'm 29 weeks along! sweet!

This weeks disses go to..........

*Jer has to work tomorrow- on a Saturday
*Jer and I only have 3 more full days together until he leaves again. Leaves on Tuesday for Mexico again.
*this never-ending winter weather we are having. enough is enough allready! Bring on the sunshine and 70 degrees!
*the kids, not understanding the concept of "quiet time" in the afternoons!
*oh, and did I mention Jer going to Mexico again.....????? NOOOOOOOOOO!

Ok, I think I'm done. A few more disses than kisses this week..........I'll have to work on that.....

So, how was your week?

Mondays Random Musings

Hello world, I'm back. Back from a long, not-so-fun bloggy break. The stomache flu officially hit our house hard last week, and I was the last to receive the special gift, and my stomache is just now returning somewhat normal where I feel human again. Ah yes, what fun. It hit Jer last Monday afternoon/evening, and went thru the kids somewhat throughout the week (they didn't have it nearly as bad as Jer and I did- thankfully), then it hit me Wed night into Thursday.

It was really weird, my sister-in-law Jen, and her family got hit with it the exact same time, and their whole family was practically out of commission all week, just as ours was. And I've heard of several other families being hit with it. Ah yes, flu season. Thanks a lot flu shot, you did me no good this time :-(

Jen posted a great blog on her website, of "Top 10 Reasons to be thankful for the Stomache Flu"...lol.....it's a great read. You should check it out. :-)

In other news.........Happy {one-day-late} Valentines Day!!!!! Hope you all spent a wonderful weekend with your special loved ones and told that someone special how much you love them!! :-) Jer and I had a good Valentines weekend, despite the sickness.
On Wednesday, (before I got sick), I was getting ready for our big Valentine party in Prims class that night. Made lots of yummy cupcakes to share, and we had a great turnout, and everyone brought some yummy red and/or pink goodie to share. :-)

Lilly has been so excited about wearing her new valentine shirt that her Aunt Jen bought for her. Despite the very short sleeves, and the freezing temps, I let her wear it to school on Wednesday for her Valentine party at school, and again that night for their party in Rainbows. She had a great Valentines day and got lots of cards and goodies from her friends.

Isaiah had his party at school on Thursday. I was planning on going to it with him, but ended up being sicker than sick, so Jer (my knight in shining armour :) ) came to my rescue and got up and got the kiddos ready for school on Thursday, and took Isaiah for me. Then he went about 15-20 minutes early to pick him up and caught the end of his Valentine party.
On Friday night, Jer and I had planned on going out on a date, and my sister was going to watch the kids. Then we were going to return the favor Sat night when they went out. Friday during the day, the kids were at my sisters house when Isaiah was just coughing up a storm and would not quit, then threw up a couple times and ended up running a 101 fever. Yeah, the lovely flu was still showing it's ugly head at our house......it would not go away! So Jer went to get him and brought him back home. We gave him his breathing treatment and gave him his meds and laid him down for a nap. He seemed much better when he woke up. Long story short, we still went out on our date (I know....we're such bad parents), my parents watched him for us, and my sister watched Lilly, and we continued with our plans as normal (hey.....we had allready bought our non-refundable tickets to Cinema Suites theatre!)
We ended up seeing "Valentines Day" movie. It was average. And ate our dinner in the comfy suites while watching our movie. It was a first for us- and I think we shall have to go back in the near future! Here I am.....in all my glory....lol........relaxing. yes, this is where we ate and saw our movie......
Thank you my Jer bear for taking me out...........we had a great time! :-)

And now it is Monday again........Valentines day is over.........festivities and all the parties are over.... :-( But it is Presidents Day and the kiddos are out of school, so Jer got up with Isaiah when he awoke at 7:30, and he let me sleep til 9. And even had biscuits and gravy waiting for me on the stove when I awoke.

I guess Mondays aren't ALL that bad! ;-)

Mondays Random Musings

It is Monday. Again.........

Here's my randomness thoughts for the day........

*It is FINALLY February. Is is just me, or is January seriously the l o n g e s t month e.v.e.r.?

*My preggo pooch is becoming more pronounced. Therefore I'm getting a lot more comments. Not saying it's a good thing. Or a bad thing. I'm just sayin'.

*To the 10 people left in the world who have yet to ask me......no, we don't have a name picked out yet.

*My Jeremy is home once again. Quite the world traveler, yes. Getting old, YES. Please be in prayer with us regarding this!

*The last 2 nights Lilly has woken up sometime in the middle of the night crying. Her scab, where her tonsils used to be is coming off/has come off I believe. She's been bleeding a little. According to the dr this is normal. Vomitting a ton of blood and seeing lots of blood is not. Praying it doesn't get to that point.

*As promised, some changes are happening in the Haines house, regarding discipline of the kids. These kids WILL learn to do things on their own bygolly! Their gonna wish we never took the study on "Effective Parenting in a Defective World". :)

*We have officially gotten baby girl stuff out of the attic and moved to babys room. A little overwhelming. Exciting. And sad all at the same time. Can't believe my little Lilly used to fit into some of these clothes!!!

*I hear there's some kind of big football game or something on this coming Sunday? I loved what my friend Mrs Nurseboy said........."on Superbowl Sunday I will be celebrating the END of football season! (Just like I do every year.)" Haha.....loved it!

On that note, hope ya'll have a fabulous week ahead and hopefully we'll see some more sunshine!!! :)
