EWomen Conference Update

This past weekend, my sis and I (along with a couple other thousand people around the KC area) went to First Baptist Church in Raytown for the Extraordinary Womens Conference. We had a blast! It was so much fun! It was Friday night, with worship band by Michael O'Brien and speaker/author, Angela Thomas - which she was an amazing speaker by the way. Very good! Then Saturday, included 3 speakers: Stormie O'Martin, Michelle McKinnley Hammond and Candace Cameron (yes, DJ from Full House!), and a concert by Matthew West and more worship music with Michael O'Brien. The whole weekend was just incredible. If you are friends with me on facebook, I uploaded ALL the pics I took of the conference to FB, so you can look at them all there. :) We had a great time - and I got Stormie, Candace's and Angela's augograph and pictures. This is definately scrapbook-worthy! ;)

Meridith and Madison

Congratulations to my friend Monica! She gave birth to two adorable twin girls yesterday!!!!!

They were born Wednesday, August 26th around 1:30.

Madison was born with low oxygen levels, so Monica was not able to see her much, she was whisked off to the nursery pretty quickly. They are keeping an eye on her, and trying to get her oxygen back up to where it should be. I was there visiting Monica again today, and as of 10:30 (not quite 24 hours after they were born), Madison was still in the nursery, and Monica had yet to see her, except for a brief moment right after she was born. So that is why in these pictures, Madi is hooked up to machines and stuff. No one had been able to hold her yet, and the girls have not been in the same room for a picture.

Yes, you are reading their weights right. :) Meridith weighed in at 6lbs 8oz, and Madison weighed 9lbs. 2 oz!

(Oh Monica, no wonder you were so miserable! You were carrying nearly 16 pounds of baby in you!)

A Big Congratulations to our very good friends, Jeremy & Monica!!!! (high five Jeremy!!!!)

Monday Stuff

Like most weekends around here, this one was a busy one, and it went by way too quickly! We are back to Monday again......but that's okay.....because that means we are only 3 days away from Jeremy coming back home! :) That is some Monday news that I can handle!

On Saturday, we went to the Ethnic Festival that was going on here in Kansas City. Mostly for the Japan booth (of course), in which my dad was working in. The festival consisted of 60+ countries around the world, and there were booths for each "country" where you could sample that countries food, or shop for goodies. Our first stop was the Japan tent.

Here is my dad. He was working the booth, just about all weekend, with a few breaks here and there when we were visiting.

Just outside the Japan booth, there were kimono lad ladies and sumo wrestler men. So here is my "lady" and my "man" posing. :)

We saw the Mexico tent and thought of daddy :(

In other exciting news...........
today was Lillys first day of school!!!! Yes, mommy and Lilly were both equally excited! :)

She LOVES riding the bus......it's the highlight of her day

Once the bus arrived, she did not want to stop and turn around so I could take a picture.

Last year she had to ride in the built in car seats on the bus. This year, since she is over 40 pounds (46 to be exact), she got to ride in the back in a "big seat" :)

After getting Lilly got on the bus, Isaiah and I got ready and had to take Lilly's epi-pen up to her school. (we were not allowed to send it in her back pack, we had to walk it to the nurses station)
Here is Lilly playing with her school friends. She knows I'm there and taking pictures and pretending to not see me. Little stinker.

Lilly is the line leader to go to recess.

Lilly's first day of school seemed to be a success. This is her last year of preschool. Next year.......ALL DAY kindergarten!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Went to a ET Ladies night out- Oasis (hawaiian style) tonight. Lots of fun. Beautiful fruit arrangement. Tasty fruit arrangement. Sat with great friends. Fun times. :)

Busy weekend ahead. Glad it's Friday. Missin my hubby though. 6 more days. :)

Lilly starts school on Monday. can't wait. :)

I'm all done. Goin to bed. G'night. :)

Meet the Teacher Night - Lillian

Last Thursday we went to Lillian's school for "meet the teacher" night. She has the same teacher and is in the same room as last year, so it was more of a refresher. Above, Lillian is putting her name by the number how old she is and posing by the bulliten board.

In the "library" corner

Lillian by her cubby :)

By the calendar and weather bulliten board

And Lilly's favorite: in the play house area
Looks like fun! When does school start??
Only 6 more days!!!!!!

Mondays Random Musings

*It's raining here today. Been raining all weekend. It's getting kind of old. Especially when we went to my moms on Saturday and was in the pool for 30 minutes then it started raining. Not fun. Dad said, "come on kids, we gotta get out of the pool or we're gonna get wet!" lol

*Eight more days until Lilly's first day of preschool. This momma can't wait! :)

*Twenty-one more days until Isaiah's first day of preschool. This momma really can't wait!!!!! :)

* So far this short little blog has taken me 3 1/2 hours to type. No, I'm not just a really really slow typer....just got distracted with the kids and had to put this on hold, and about forgot about it and am now getting back to it- lol. Yes, this really is random musings.

* I love eating out. Yes, this is a horrible habit that I am determined to break. It's been really tough with Jer's travel schedule, and for me and the kids it's just so much easier to grab something out, than make something here that the kids won't eat. My hips are not liking this too much.

* I am going to the church tonight to learn how to give hand and neck massages. I'm actually really excited! I think it'll be fun! Jeremy is excited about it as well. He said I can practice on him anytime. ha-- silly husband. ;)

* One of my really really really good friends, whom I've known for like 14+ years (since we were freshman in high school) is expecting her first child, and she is having twin girls. I am soooo happy and excited for her! We had a friends & family shower for her at my house a few weeks ago, and last weekend we had a church shower for her with her church family. She is due Sept 9th, and has a scheduled c-section on Aug 26th. If she can make it that long. :) Here is a photo at her co-ed shower at my house:

And here is Monica at her church shower. yes.....I do believe Monica might kill me for posting this...... ;)

* So I hear we've started like the pre-season football games, or something like that. At least according to half my friends' status' on facebook. geez. Every fall I thank the Lord I do not have a football maniac of a husband. :)

* So I've been thinking about vacations a lot lately. Maybe because we didn't really take one this year. I'm so deprived. j/k. I'm thinking a big trip in 2 years, when Jeremy and I celebrate 10 years together. Back to the Bahamas? Jamacia? Hawaii? So many wonderful choices. Ha....knowing us, we'll pick someplace like St Louis or Springfield- LOL.

* Jeremy is gone, again to Mexico. Left this afternoon, and will be returning in 10 long days. Prayers are welcome! :)

Family Day

Yesterday we spent a fun day as a family, and went to Fritz's for lunch, and then to Union Station to Science City. Had lots of fun - wore the kids out. Goal accomplished. :) Here's proof:

For those who have never been to Fritz's, it is inside Crown Center, and a kid-friendly place to eat. There was no one eating there who did not have children with them. Seriously! The food was average. So-so. Nothing to write home about. But it was not about the food- it was all about the atmosphere. They had a phone at each table. When you were ready to order, you picked up the phone and they would answer back in the kitchen to take your order. They have a train track and trains, above the booths, and a train would bring your food to your booth, and lower it down and you would grab it from there, and the waitresses would deliver your drinks. It's really a cool place, and the kids were facinated with all the trains going by all the time!

Then we drove the next street over and went to Union Station, and to Science City. Our kids might be a little young for that place still, but they had a good time anyways. And of course, we had to take a ice cream break :)

All in all, family day was a success. :)

He's Home!!!

Yay! My hubby is home once again! We are rejoicing over here! He got in this evening, just in time for dinner. I even made some chocolate chip cookies for dessert, Jeremy's favorite. He had some with a tall glass of milk. Mmm-mmm. :) Then we all played a game as a family. Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders, of course. (not really sure if what we were doing would be called "playing" or not though....) It's good for him to be home once again. He will be home for 9 days, before he is off again. We have some (hopefully) fun stuff planned. Stay tuned.....

Chances Are.....

...if the kids are in the house, and the house is quiet, they are getting in to trouble.
...if Lilly disappears to her room, she is probably changing her clothes, again.
...if you see me during June, July or August, my hair will be in a pony tail.
...we will no longer have our dog a year from now.
...if you come to my house, the downstairs at least, will be in decent shape. I like to clean.
...if you walk in to my kids rooms, they WILL be a mess.
...if you get on facebook after 8pm, I will be on line.
...if it's dinner time, we are having chicken.
...if Jeremy is home, the kids will be right behind him. Isaiah at least.
...if we ever have any more children, they too, will be so stinkin ornery.
...if we ever have any children, they will also be so adorable.
...if my kids are quiet, they are watching Full House. or getting in to trouble.
...after dinner, Lilly will ask for a fudge bar for dessert.
...the kids will ask for a hot dog for lunch. Any given day.
...my kids are getting in to trouble. (do you see a pattern developing here???)
...if you get in to my car at any given time, K Love will be playing.
...if you go in to my office, it is a disaster.
...this time tomorrow night my friend Monica will hopefully have given birth to her twin girls!
...in 30 minutes I will be in bed reading.
....in 32 minutes I will be fast asleep.
...my kids will get in to some kind of trouble tomorrow.

Now it's your turn! Leave me a comment pointing me to your blog and play along. Finish the sentence....."Chances Are...."
