Monday and Tuesday I didn't get out of the house much. Just tried catching up on stuff around the homefront. So today, it was time we ventured out again. You know me.....can't stay inside for long......gotta get out and do something!

The kids and I went with my mom to a consignment store to look for Lilly a new swimsuit. She had gotten 2 new ones the beginning of summer....and somehow, they are both MIA now. I've torn this house upside down looking for them, to no avail. (hm.....maybe this is Lilly's ploy to get a new swimsuit.....?) Anyhow, we found one, so we grabbed it. Then we went and had lunch at our usual, Taco Via. (gotta love that place......although I think I actually hear the employees groan when they see us pull up......lol) Then we went back to moms house.....to, of course, go swimming. Water was a bit cold today, and the weather was not quite as HOT as it had been recently, so it wasn't as fun and relaxing as I'd hoped. Kids still had a ball though.

I am very much looking forward to a 3 day weekend with my hubby. He gets Friday off this week for the holiday weekend. yayyyyy!!!!! And the kids are scheduled to stay the night with my sis and bro Fri night.......double yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! =) Jer ordered us tickets to the New Theatre Resteraunt. I'm sooooo excited. Never been there before. Like I told my mom, I'm just glad to be going on a date that doesn't include a trip to Hy-Vee! (although who knows, we might still run by there after the show.....just for kicks....hahaha)

I'm off to do my bible study and get ready for church tonight. Happy Hump Day Everybody!

Woe is Me

I've been sick the past couple of days, so I haven't been on the computer much. I actually haven't been off the couch much. Mostly with a sore throat, splittin' headache, and fever. I hate being sick. It's just been miserable. Thankfully, I have an awesome hubby who spoils me and takes really good care of me. Originally Jer was suppose to be in Mexico this week for work, well PTL, he got out of that.....just in time to stay home and take care of poor, sick ol me! He even took the kids out this evening and got some chicken noodle soup from the store, since we were out. And now he's helping me clean house. Do I have the best husband or what? I think I do! I'm really trying to get better though, and rest, because we have 30+ people coming over to our house on Saturday night from our church. So I've been stressin' over getting the house cleaned too. Geez, it's never a good time to get sick! Anyways, just wanted to touch base, since I haven't blogged in a few days, and let ya'll know, that I'm still alive. I know you've all been checkin' my blogs daily looking for more exciting news from the Haines house! lol.

More to come.....for now, I'm off to assume my position on the couch again. :o)

Sorry for the delay....

....but my computer is currently out of commission. The internet connection died on me yesterday afternoon, before I got around to doing my blog for the day. Jer looked at it last night, and the computer tech is suppose to come this evening between 4-9pm. So I'm currently using my moms computer for the moment. I'm so lost. No internet, no blog, no email.....what's a girl to do? ;)

*****
I went with Lilly this morning with her class at school on a field trip to Paradise Park. We've been there before- since we have a family pass - and the kids just LOVE it. Isaiah cried this morning when he found out where we were going and he couldn't go with us. I dropped him off at my moms before Lilly and I went there. We had a good time. I got to meet lots of her school friends who she talks about a lot. Then we came back and got mom and Isaiah and had Taco Bell for lunch, then came back to moms, and she gave the kids their Valentines presents. So I will not stay on here long, since I am at moms. Just wanted to end you with the good news, that I did not get to share with you yesterday......
My first official week of Weight Watchers, and I lost 3 pounds! woo-hoo! Weigh-in Wednesday was yesterday. The 2 ladies I am doing this with (my sis and a friend from church) both lost yesterday too. :) So it was a good day. We are not going to the meetings, or officially signed up with WW, but have done it in the past, so we know how the program works, and we are just keeping each other accountable. Working so far. I'll keep ya posted. :)
In the meantime, pray my internet problem gets fixed, and I'll be back on here soon with some Valentine stuff. :)
Love ya,

Private Blog

I think I did it right. Only those I chose and accepted should be able to read my blogs now, right? Let me know, if it works, and if you had to "log in" to see my blog.

Well, it is suppose to be a beeeee-utiful day today. And I'm stuck inside with a sick kid. :( Nothing major (I don't think). Isaiah was running a slight fever last night, so we gave him some motrin and put him to bed. This morning he was running a fever of 101.4. So I skipped my bible study this morning, and Isaiah had an allergist appt this afternoon, so we cancelled that. We originally had a pretty full day planned. not anymore. He seems to be doing ok. Just a little tired out of his eyes, and watching Cars, for the second time allready today.

Must go check on him now. I'm hearing the pitter-patter of feet downstairs looking for me. Just wanted to check in and secure my blog a little bit. or try to. ;)

PS. Check back tomorrow for thoughts on Weigh-In Wednesday and some Valentine humor/thoughts :)

Time with Friends

I've been dealing with the issues of an extra cranky kid this week. Isaiah has the cough/croupe and it is making him extra miserable, which in turn, makes everyone in the house extra miserable! The old saying is true- When Mama aint Happy, aint no one happy!- but it could also be true with your toddler! (or anyone else in the house for that matter!)

I took Isaiah with me to the first day of my ladies bible study at my church on Tues morning. He woke up coughing and just not himself. The whole way to church I was going back and forth on whether to take him or not. I ended up going to my bible study (I hate missing the first one--- you get the introduction and all that....), and keeping Isaiah in there with me. I was afraid to put him in the nursery, in case he was contagious. So we only lasted about 30 min, before he started getting antsy and more noisy. So I took him out, and by that time, he started playing and acting like he felt tons better. He woke up this morning all smiles and acting just fine. Go figure.
Today was a different kind of day. After I put Lilly on the bus, Isaiah and I got ready and met Brandi and another friend, Christina, up at the park and we all had our double strollers, loaded with kids, and went walking. We walked around the trail twice, which equals 2 miles, which includes a killer hill. It was energizing and exhausting all at the same time. Then we let the kids play at the park for a little bit (as a "reward" for being good while we walked). Then Isaiah and I had to hurry home and I took a quick shower, and my friend Melissa came over about noon and had lunch with us. She is doing some training closer to my neck of the woods this week, and spent her lunch break with us. We had a good visit. After Melissa got out of training about 4:00, she came back over, and when Jeremy got home from work at 5, we all loaded up and went to eat at Applebees before church. (oh yea, Melissa is my Prims sponsor, and I am her co-sponsor, which is how we've become really good friends). I rode with Melissa over to Applebees, and after arriving, Jeremy noticed that Melissa had a very flat front tire. So after eating (which took foooooorrrrever! Service was extremely slow) Jer put on her donut tire for her, and she rode with me and the kids in Jeremy's truck to the church, and Jer followed us, driving Melissa's car. She was afraid to drive with the donut on there. We were only 7 minutes late to church. All worked out. Oh yea, and my BFF Brandi, she's such a sweetie, she surprised me, and baked me a cake for my birthday, (which is Monday, BTW), and had all the girls sing Happy Birthday to me tonight during class. (I help in Prims, and she co-sponsors in STARS, which is right next door). My class devoured all the cake but 3 pieces.....one for my hubby and one for each of my kiddos. All in all, a great day. =)

Not-so-great Day

Yesterday was.....well, just not the greatest day for me. Seems like as soon as I woke up, from when I checked my email, the day just went from bad to worse. I will spare you the details. Just know that at 5:30PM when Jer walked in the door from work, I was in tears, spoke to him for a few minutes, and left to pick up my sister and go to MOPS. A much, much needed break. (no, I was not upset at Jer, he had nothing to do with any of it - just an innocent bystander.)

What tipped me off at the end of the day, was when Isaiah got a hold of a purple bottle of my fingernail polish, and decided to play "toss" in to the bucket. Needless to say, he didn't quite make the bucket, and it landed, busted open, and spattered all over the hardwood floors in the kitchen, and on in to the carpet in the living room. ugh.

Praise the Lord anyhow, and today was, eh .....somewhat better than yesterday. I had a good visit with some ladies at MOPS, and came home feeling better. (Amazing what a little time away from the kids will do for ya!) :)

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:2
