Show Us Where You Live Friday....and my award :)

Can anybody say hallalujiah its Friday?! Be sure to visit my friend Heather for a tour of her living room, as well as Kelly over at Kellys Korner for more living room tours!

Today is my living room. Now, don't get too excited. It's nothing fancy :) I used to be fancy (well....more so than I am now at least....), but then my kids came along, and well, you know how that goes. :) No more little knick-knacks on my tables and cutesie little pictures and candles everywhere. No siree. Not in my house. My home is extremely kid-friendly. Every "pretty" thing in my house must be hanging or on a shelf that is 5 ft or taller. :)

Anywho.....here goes.......

This is what you see when you go through the front entry way and look in to the living room. Very simple. Love the chair in the corner.....very comfy and great for reading. :)

The opposite wall of the long couch.....here is the love seat. Hope you can't see the walls toooo clearly in these pics....we desperately need to get our living room painted. Fingerprints galore! It's on our to-do list....

This is one of the few things we have out. Up until about a month or so ago, this end table was completely bare. All the time. Just not long ago, I set out this cute vase and put this picture frame on it. Jer took one look at it after I put it out, and said, "mommy is feeling brave". yup. sure am. The picture frame has been kocked down and kicked around a few times, but so far, nothings broken. (BTW- that is Jeremy's parents in the frame, with all 4 of their grands- our 2, plus Jeremy's sisters 2 boys).

Another look at the living room. That's the kitchen area to the left.....and again....love all the windows in the living room. Very bright and airy. :)

A plant that we got from our church's choir after Jer's grandma passed away in March. I have a very black thumb.....but so far, it's still alive!! :)

Love our fireplace :) (oh, and yes, the TV is on....Isaiah was watching Shrek when I took these pictures)

This matted picture frame is sitting on the mantel on the fireplace. Just love it. I gave it to Jer for Christmas last year. Our youth pastors wife made it for me :)

An overall view of our living room. with chewy again. Of course. :)

Award and other Family News

Thank you, to DaNella at Beyond Microburst! who nominated me for the BOW Award! (For those unaware, BOW stands for Blog of the Week, on the Assemblies of God Website) Go to their website, to check out my "feature" of the week and interview. It's cool too, cause DaNella designed the BOW logo, and those are her 2 kids in the photo. Pretty neat, huh?

Many of you know me by now to know that Steven Curtis Chapman is one of my favorite christian singer/songwriters. Good Morning America did an interview with him and his wife recently, after the death of their youngest daughter Maria. I found myself nearly in tears as I watched the interview, and Mary Beth (SCC's wife) talking about her daughter. I wanted to share it with all of you, as a reminder, to keep this family in your prayers. I cannot even fathom what this family is going through, other than to know that God is faithful, and God has not forgotten them. They will see their daughter again one day!

Prayer Points......

  • Please pray for Grandma H this week, if you think about it. (Jer's Grandma). She is going on her 2nd week, after having her 2nd round of chemo therapy, and is still not doing well. We just found out today that now she has pneumonia in both lungs. She needs your prayers!

  • There have been several deaths lately, in our church and friends of the family. If you think about it, please keep the Idun family, the McConnells, and the Hundley's in your prayers. This is never an easy thing for any family to have to deal with. They are all believers though, and know who is in control of all things.

Other Special Family Points of Interest:

  • For those wondering about my previous post and my fingernail polish catastrophe, yes, the fingernail polish came out of the hardwood floors in the kitchen, and No, it did not come out of the living room carpet! Ok......help! Anyone know a secret on how to remove purple fingernail polish from carpet? (without bleaching the carpet???)

  • Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!! The countdown continues. Lillian has 8 days until her first
    day of Preschool!
