These are a few of my favorite things.....

One of my all-time favorite seasons is upon us! Ok, I probably say that about every season, but there is something in every season that I just love. Don't you? So here is my list.......Some of my favorite things about Fall....(in no particular order) :)

* mine and Jeremy's birthdays! (Sept 15th and Oct 23rd); I enjoy it now....wait a few years and this may be on my "things I dislike about fall" list!

* kids are back in school!!!! (can I get a hallalujiah?!)

* pumpkin or apple scented candles

* pumpkins

* the changing of the leaves- love the reds, oranges and yellows on the trees- so pretty

* cooler temps

* Halloween parties (at church, the kids' schools...)

* hayrides

* hot apple cider

* open windows in the house

* taking the kids to pumpkin patches or farms (going pumpkin pickin')

* garage saling (lots of good garage sales and neighborhood sales around here in Sept!)

* carving a pumpkin with the kids

*we don't have to mow anymore! or not as much at least. (with Jeremy's travel schedule, this has become one of "my" jobs around the house)

And these area few of my favorite things!!!

So.....what are YOUR favorite things about fall?

Welcome October!

Yes, it is true. The word is out. I am officially 9 weeks pregnant :) My due date is May 5, 2010. Which so happens to be mine and Jeremy's 9 year anniversary. But hey, I figured, we've had 8 years to celebrate our anniversary all to ourselves, why don't we give Baby #3 the rest of our anniversaries?! ;)
Ok, so that's not exactly what we thought. We were a bit shocked to find out of Baby #3. We have started talking another baby, but did not completely decide yet if we wanted another one, and when............when, voila'! Baby #3 has made it's presence known! If I would have had my choice, we would have waited a bit longer, to have a summer baby, since we have November and March babies. But, baby is ready now I guess! And yes, I took 4 tests.....just to make sure!

So happy October is here.............makes Fall seem like it's here officially now! Love the cool weather! Have a great day!

the adventure of Isaiah's first day

Back from vacation and buried under piles of laundry, and a pig-sty of a house. (was it really worth it?)...ok ok.....I guess it was. ;)

We came back to a busy next day. Today marks the end of an era (or beginning.....however you want to look at it) :) Today was Isaiah's first day of preschool. Yes, my baby boy is in preschool......... F I N A L L Y ! haha....you thought I was gonna boo-hoo didn't ya? nah, you knew me better than that. I dropped Isaiah off this mornin dancin and singing the hallalujiah chorus. :)

For those of you not able to capture the moment and excitement with me.....here is our morning, in photos..... :)

yes! finally time for Isaiah to go off to preschool! he is excited!!!!

he's not really in the picture-taking mood......

we finally arrived at our destination.....Sonshine Preschool! I pray daily for his poor poor teacher......

here is mister vanna white.....showing off his backpack hook :)

ta-da!!!!! here is my classroom!!!!!!

ok, so he just realized that daddy is going to LEAVE, and not stay at preschool and play with him..... :( a little whiny, a little clingy.....no tears though :)

ok, finally let go of daddy, and he decided to go sit down and give this whole "school thing" a try.....

He survived his first day of school! Here he is, waiting with the other kids on the carpet, until mommy comes to pick him up.
Man, that 3 hours went by FAST. And he only goes Tuesdays and Thursdays?!?
Um, is it too late to sign him up for 5 days a week? I could get used to this.......

Headin out....

We are heading out of town this weekend, to Lake Pomme de Terre, it is our annual familiy tradition/reunion. We go there along wtih Jeremy's parents, sister and her family, and many of Jeremy's mom's siblings, and their kids and their kids' families. Jeremy's mom has 9(?) brothers and sisters, so many years, there are quite a few of us!! We are looking forward to it. Most years, the weekend is spent out on the lake, on the boat, jet skiing, swimming in the pool and such. I have a feeling, by the weather lately, that this year will be different. Possibly more swinging, playing ball, playing with play-doh or crafts or playing board games! It will still be fun though! Pictures to follow, of course :)

Tonight in between packing and shopping, we went to Isaiah's preschool for meet-the-teacher night. He will be attending Sonshine Preschool, twice a week (Tues & Thurs), from 9am-12pm. And let me tell you.....I. AM. READY! (and I think he is too! lol) A few pics from tonight will follow sometime next week when I'm not so scatterbrained (hm- make that next month then....)

Ok, I'm off to finish getting everything ready and catching a few Zzzz's. Have a great labor day weekend, friends!

EWomen Conference Update

This past weekend, my sis and I (along with a couple other thousand people around the KC area) went to First Baptist Church in Raytown for the Extraordinary Womens Conference. We had a blast! It was so much fun! It was Friday night, with worship band by Michael O'Brien and speaker/author, Angela Thomas - which she was an amazing speaker by the way. Very good! Then Saturday, included 3 speakers: Stormie O'Martin, Michelle McKinnley Hammond and Candace Cameron (yes, DJ from Full House!), and a concert by Matthew West and more worship music with Michael O'Brien. The whole weekend was just incredible. If you are friends with me on facebook, I uploaded ALL the pics I took of the conference to FB, so you can look at them all there. :) We had a great time - and I got Stormie, Candace's and Angela's augograph and pictures. This is definately scrapbook-worthy! ;)

Meridith and Madison

Congratulations to my friend Monica! She gave birth to two adorable twin girls yesterday!!!!!

They were born Wednesday, August 26th around 1:30.

Madison was born with low oxygen levels, so Monica was not able to see her much, she was whisked off to the nursery pretty quickly. They are keeping an eye on her, and trying to get her oxygen back up to where it should be. I was there visiting Monica again today, and as of 10:30 (not quite 24 hours after they were born), Madison was still in the nursery, and Monica had yet to see her, except for a brief moment right after she was born. So that is why in these pictures, Madi is hooked up to machines and stuff. No one had been able to hold her yet, and the girls have not been in the same room for a picture.

Yes, you are reading their weights right. :) Meridith weighed in at 6lbs 8oz, and Madison weighed 9lbs. 2 oz!

(Oh Monica, no wonder you were so miserable! You were carrying nearly 16 pounds of baby in you!)

A Big Congratulations to our very good friends, Jeremy & Monica!!!! (high five Jeremy!!!!)

Monday Stuff

Like most weekends around here, this one was a busy one, and it went by way too quickly! We are back to Monday again......but that's okay.....because that means we are only 3 days away from Jeremy coming back home! :) That is some Monday news that I can handle!

On Saturday, we went to the Ethnic Festival that was going on here in Kansas City. Mostly for the Japan booth (of course), in which my dad was working in. The festival consisted of 60+ countries around the world, and there were booths for each "country" where you could sample that countries food, or shop for goodies. Our first stop was the Japan tent.

Here is my dad. He was working the booth, just about all weekend, with a few breaks here and there when we were visiting.

Just outside the Japan booth, there were kimono lad ladies and sumo wrestler men. So here is my "lady" and my "man" posing. :)

We saw the Mexico tent and thought of daddy :(

In other exciting news...........
today was Lillys first day of school!!!! Yes, mommy and Lilly were both equally excited! :)

She LOVES riding the bus......it's the highlight of her day

Once the bus arrived, she did not want to stop and turn around so I could take a picture.

Last year she had to ride in the built in car seats on the bus. This year, since she is over 40 pounds (46 to be exact), she got to ride in the back in a "big seat" :)

After getting Lilly got on the bus, Isaiah and I got ready and had to take Lilly's epi-pen up to her school. (we were not allowed to send it in her back pack, we had to walk it to the nurses station)
Here is Lilly playing with her school friends. She knows I'm there and taking pictures and pretending to not see me. Little stinker.

Lilly is the line leader to go to recess.

Lilly's first day of school seemed to be a success. This is her last year of preschool. Next year.......ALL DAY kindergarten!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

Busy weekend ahead. Glad it's Friday. Missin my hubby though. 6 more days. :)

Lilly starts school on Monday. can't wait. :)

Meet the Teacher Night - Lillian

Last Thursday we went to Lillian's school for "meet the teacher" night. She has the same teacher and is in the same room as last year, so it was more of a refresher. Above, Lillian is putting her name by the number how old she is and posing by the bulliten board.

In the "library" corner

Lillian by her cubby :)

By the calendar and weather bulliten board

And Lilly's favorite: in the play house area
Looks like fun! When does school start??
Only 6 more days!!!!!!
