Labor Day 2011

Well, we are back from a (mostly) fun, yet exhausting weekend away at the lake. I say 'mostly' because we did spend some time in the ER with Isaiah, that of course was not wanted or planned. So that part was kinda scary! Jeremy was down a few cabins over in his parents and sisters rooms (they had adjoining rooms - we were stuck way on the other side of the resort! :( ) and it was 10:30 or so and they were getting ready to play a game (Jeremy, his dad, his sister, his brother in law and his nephew). Andy, our brother in law had bought a big bag of peanut m&m's earlier, and everybody was snacking on those. Most of you know that Isaiah is like deathly allergic to peanuts or any kind of tree nut. So we have to be very careful - we've made several trips to the ER with him. Well, long story short, before anyone knew what was going on, Isaiah came up to the table and grabbed a peanut m&m and stuck it in his mouth and bit in to it. Everybody freaked out and had him spit it out, and Jer attempted to get it all out of his mouth and rinse his mouth out. It was allready too late at that point, and shortly after that, Isaiah started wheezing and coughing. He brought him back to our room, where Gena and I were sleeping. We gave him a shot of his epi pen (THANK YOU GOD that we had it!!), called Jer's mom, who came down to stay with Gena and me and Jer were off with Isaiah to the hospital. Got there about 11:30pm or so. After the doctor giving him more of the epi medicine (his breathing was still wheezy) Isaiah finally started feeling better and quit coughing as much and could breathe a little better. After keeping us to observe him for a little bit, they finally let us go home about 3:30, and we got back to our room a little after 4am. A little more excitement than we hoped for on Saturday night! Isaiah is doing much better now, and is back to his usual ornery self. Other than that little incident, we had a blast this weekend!

I wanted to share a few photos with you this beautiful Tuesday! Here are some highlights of our trip.....we did a lot of swimming, jet skiing, eating, playing games and just having fun, hanging out with family - some we don't get to see but once or twice a year.

Saturday night we met up with some family at the Dam, where there were swings, a merry go round, tennis and basketball courts and a nice shelter house.

Sunday we took the kids jet skiing - that was a lot of fun! Lilly and Isaiah both got on the jet ski for the first time - they both loved it!

And what would a family reunion be without a fun game of Spoons?!? =)

Right before we left, we had to take our annual family pics.....every year we usually have one kid that just.won't.cooperate. Not this year bygolly! All the kids did great - I was so proud of them!!

After we leave our room, we always go down to the lighthouse harbor and feed the fish....

This is Aunt Carolyn - one of Judy's many sisters

And eating lunch on the way home....

That was our weekend in a nutshell! Hope you all had a fun, safe labor day weekend, and your weekend did NOT involve an ER visit!

Jude Michael

Ok, so we're heading to the lake this weekend for our annual labor day family reunion, but I had to post this pic real quick before we head out. My good friend Pam had her baby early this morning (like 12:23am to be exact), and me and my friend Monica were there at the hospital and got to meet baby Jude Michael only like 40 min after he was born. Jude is welcomed by Daddy, Mommy and big sister Hailee. He is an absolute doll. So glad I could meet him before we left town!

Hope you all have a fun, safe Labor Day weekend, and we'll see ya next week!!! :)

The car in front of me had a bumper sticker on it. It read: “Pray for Obama. Psalm 109:8.” When I got home I opened my bible to the scripture and read it and started laughing. Psalm 109:8 –“Let his days be few and brief; And let others step forward to replace him.” At last –I can voice a Biblical prayer for our president! Let us bow our heads and pray.

Ha! Saw this on a friends facebook status and had to repost =)

Hope you all are having a great week! Gena was ill and has had a mystery rash the last few days, but she seems to have made a turn for the better this afternoon - yay! Here's to a great rest of the week!! =)

Random Fact about me #327:

I really enjoy mowing the yard. Especially in the mornings or evenings, when it's not as hot, and there's a small breeze - there's just something about it that I enjoy. Just me and God, alone with my thoughts. And of course it doesn't hurt that the engine of the lawn mower drowns out the yelling, fighting and bickering of the kids. That's an added bonus. =)

blogger issues

Are you having problems viewing my blog? I was just informed (from my sis) that she has to highlight my blog, in order to see what I wrote, otherwise it just looks blank. Is anyone else having this problem? And blogger friends.....what do I do to fix this???

the day i've been waiting for...!!!

That's right, it's the first day of school baby!!! =)

This year, I have a kindergartner and a 1st grader! I was a little sad last year to send Lilly off to school, all day kindergarten, I was a little nervous for her. She's so quiet around new people, and she was my first baby, you know. But she ended up loving kindergarten and had a blast. No need to worry. Now my son on the other hand, I'm not worried about him one bit. No siree.....he'll do just fine! Isaiah has always, from day 1 bringing him home from the hospital, has always been my tough child. You know the type. I have been dreaming about all day kindergarten for him for at least 2 years now, if not longer! And the time has come!!! =)

From now on during the day, it will just be me and my baby girl. I'm hoping and praying Gena will do good with this change. She loves her bubby and sissy, and thinks their the greatest thing, and loves playing with them and being entertained by them during the day. So we shall see how she does now, with just mommy home.

I'm excited though!!! We've reached another huge milestone in our home this week. =)

Lilly could not believe I came up to her school the first day of school to take a few pictures. Here she is in her new 1st grade classroom!!

And here is Isaiah in his new K room.....(notice all the weepy moms by their kids in the class? haha....cracks me up)

No tears from this mama this year.

Now wait 4 or 5 years, and we'll see how I do when I send Gena off to school.......

please pray

Ok, so I changed my blog back to private, I just can't decide which I prefer. I talk a lot about my family, the city we live in, places we go, and use all our real names, so really, how safe is that on the internet? I wasn't sure, but thought I should go back to private anyways. Besides, I have my tried and true faithful readers and what random person would really want to read my blog anyways? Unless of course their a pshyco seriel killer, in which case, now they can't =)

Ok, a couple things to update you since I've last posted. One of my dear friends, Regina, had a baby boy (child #5 for her, she had 4 girls before). Baby boy was born prematurely, and has heart and stomache problems (he had surgery on his stomache about a week after being born). Along with those problems, he also has Down Syndrome, which brings on a whole onslaught of other issues. So they are dealing with that right now. He's about a month and a half old now, and still in the NICU. Hooked up to oxygen and all kinds of wires and machines. I don't know all the details and the medical talk, but I'm just asking my blogger friends to please pray for my friend, Regina and her baby boy, Carter. Regina has a lot on her plate, with taking care of her 4 girls, and getting them ready for school now, and going up to the hospital every day to visit Carter, not to mention juggling the everyday mommy/wife stuff. Please say a prayer for her =)

My second prayer request is for a lady that goes to our church. Her name is Kambria, and she found out, about 4 weeks ago, that her youngest son, Ryker has leukemia. He is only 1 year old. They have been drug thru hell and back this past month - or so it seems. You can read all about his story and his updates on his blog http://www.lovingryker.org/. Please keep Kambria and Matt and their boy Ryker in your prayers. They sure appreciate it!

Hearing stories such as these, sure makes me hug and kiss and love on my kids even more. Three healthy kids sure is a blessing. I will take their constant whining and fighting anyday. Thank you God, for my kids.

to the two best dads in the world....

If ever there was a daddy's girl........it would be I. ;-) I have been blessed with the best daddy in the world. He has always been there for me, and has always put his kids needs in front of his own. And as good of a daddy as he is, he is all that more better at being a Papa. His grands are just about it. My dad loves his family. And we sure love him too. Happy Father's Day, Dad!

PS. The pic below was taken Fathers Day 2010; not sure where Isaiah was at, probably in the corner in time out or throwing a fit in the background. just a wild guess. :)

Happy Father's Day to Jer, the most awesome hubby and daddy in the world (ok, so there are 2 best dads in the world, it's my blog, i can say what i want) ;-) haha
