In with the new....(part two)

Note: If you are reading this, and have not read "Out with the Old", or
"In with the New....part one", please click on them and read them first. :)

Ok, here is the last of it- I promise! Sorry I had to keep breaking it up for you. For some reason, once I added a photo, it wouldn't let me scroll down past that photo. So I had to download the photos in the opposite order I wanted them shown, so I didn't have to change them , or have them be 'backwards', if that makes sense. Anyways, it was real annoying, but here is my new living room!!!!!!

As you can see from the above photo, we added/changed several things. The paint. Added the rug ($75 from Wal Mart), brought back our coffee table. (we had this out 4 years ago, before Lilly was born and when she was really little. Once she started becoming more mobile, we put it away. Its glass, and it swivels back and forth--- looked like an ER visit waiting to happen...)
We also added some throw pillows and an awesome two toned red berry wreath for above the mantel. I'm not a big wreath person, but I just fell in love with this one!!!

We moved the TV, out from the corner, and moved the love seat. The picture behind the love seat is new too.....matches our decor...

Below: The iron wall hangings behind the chair was there before, we just spray painted it black

And the last photo, below, is not in our living room, it is in our entry way, but wanted to add this in here too, since Jonae put together this awesome arrangement for me. Love it. haha....it kind of looks funny in the pic, it's hard to tell, but it really is just some twigs (from her back yard) and some other little red, foofoo thing in there that Jonae added. It's very "open and airy".

In with the new......(part one)

If you did not see my previous post titled "Out with the old", click here and read it first. Otherwise, here are the AFTER pics that I promised. :)

Above: my newly painted kitchen - love the color. It's very warm and inviting. Other than paint, it's hard to tell what has changed, unless you look close, at the decor above the cabinets, or the pic hanging by the fridge (or the fact that my fridge is de-cluttered) :)

Above: here is above some of the cabinets. Added fresh greenery, and a plate and pitcher, and greenery and red berries coming out of the pitcher.
Above: this is above some more of the cabinets, by the stove and microwave. Added some "cha cha's" and my favorite, a lamp! Love the look that the lamp gives, and we leave it on all the time- it's very homey. Love it! Thanks to my designer for the great idea! I never would have thought about that! The plaque is also very cool up there. It is something I all ready had, just moved it to a new place.

Yeah! I got curtains in my kitchen now! Love love love the curtains. And I got them for a deal of a price. Makes me love them even more! :) I also tried to de-clutter the counter space too. Moved my rusty, filthy toaster oven to the garage. We only bring it out when we use it now, then it goes back in the garage!

Below: My designer also put together this little counter space thing for me too, when she was here. I all ready had the candle holders and candles. This is tucked neatly in the corner of my counter, behind my sink.

Below: Here is a cool picture we found, and Jonae made a 'message board' out of it, by adding the ribbon, so I can tuck pictures and notes in it. I love the coffee cup look. This has become my new "theme" in my kitchen. :)

This is on my buffett counter on the other side of the kitchen. We hung up our cool family wall hanging there, so it is more visible. We also added a basket to the counter, to stash keys, cell phone and misc stuff.

And in my eating area, Jonae made for me this wall pocket. I absolutely LOVE it.

And she made for me this table topper, to keep on top of our kitchen table.

There are still a couple things I would like to add to my new kitchen. And that is new rugs (perhaps coffee cup or brown and red) and some new dish towels. Other than that, it's a keeper. What do you think?
Ok, this silly blogger is ridiculous. I must post "In with the new....part 2" on another post.......

Out with the old....

So my living room and kitchen re-paint and re-accesorizing is finally complete! I absolutely LOVE it, and wanted to share it with all my reader-friends. Let me know what you think! First, let's re-cap......here is what my kitchen and living room used to look like.....

Mickey Mouse was the main decor in the kitchen. I had Mickey snowglobes above the cabinets with some greenery, and mickey plates hanging on the wall, along with a mickey picture and clock.

My living room is what really needed help with, accessorizing at least. And I really wanted something cool above the fireplace and on the mantel.

This wall was very plain.....

My blogger is giving me fits, and I am having problems scrolling down to post the "After" pics. So I will have to post them in another blog......

Why Didn't I think of That???

Why didn't I think of doing this at my wedding?

What's been going on in my life lately you ask? (Well, maybe you didn't ask, but I will tell you anyways. Just for the fun of it) :)

Jer finally came home. After 12 long days and nights. He came home Friday night. Got home about 9 or so, and the kids were still up......had to stay up to see daddy of course. Boy were they excited. I should have video taped it. We were going to stay at the top of the stairs, and "scare daddy" when he came in, but the kids just couldn't hardly contain themselves. (ok, so I couldn't hardly contain myself....) As soon as we heard his car door shut in the garage, we came barreling down the stairs like a herd of elephants. Ah, such a sight to see I'm sure. :)

We have been spending as much time together as a family as we can this past weekend and this week. Because we know another trip is just around the horizon. Next Monday morning to be exact. Another trip to good ol' Mexico City, for another 12 long days and nights. Looks like it will be like this for a couple more months at least......going in to fall. *sigh* BUT......I will survive! Reminds me of a saying Pastor Jason gave a few months ago......"I can't, but YOU can through me!"

Some random thoughts, on this cloudy, lazy Tuesday.....

*I made some cream cheese mints with a friend the other day. They were deeee- lish! I must share the recipe. As soon as I get it- ha! We made them at my friends house, and used her recipe, and therefore came home with a bunch of yummy mints- but no recipe.

*My kids have developoed an unhealthy obsession to watching Full House reruns on DVD. (flashback to my childhood!) They just love, "Michelle.....and whats the other girs names?" as Isaiah asked me the other day. You know it's getting bad when Isaiah walks around saying 'how rude'. *sigh* what have I done???

*It has been unusually cool for this time of the year in KC. High of.....78 today? In July? Unprecedented! My poor Lilly continues to ask daily if we are going to MeMa's house to go swimming.

*It is almost time for dinner. What is on the menu tonight? I'm thinking something chicken......mainly because that's what I pulled out of the freezer this morning. Stay tuned.....

Now where are those little people at? oh yea.......in the living room watching.....yup, Full House.

One more day, and counting....

This time tomorrow night, Jer should be home.....or getting really really close to home!!!! Yay! These have been the longest days of my life. And even longer nights!

My family has been awesome though, in helping me out so much with the kiddos. Speaking of family, my dad took the kids from me this evening, after dinner, to McDonalds to let them play on the play place and to get them some ice cream. What a great papa! :)

I cannot wait to spend the whole weekend with Jer, and all of next week. I believe he will even be taking off work a day or two. He should, after working 70+ hours last week!

I am officially, seriously, missing my hubby tonight. :( He left last Monday.....almost a week ago now, for Mexico, and will not be back for 5 more days.....this Friday.

The kids and I have been trying to keep busy. And my awesome family has been helping me a TON......so I'm doing okay......kid-wise and sanity-wise. I'm not completely going insane (yet). But I do miss Jeremy........so much. :( This is the longest we've been apart, I think, since we've been married. And. I. Don't. Like. It. One. Bit.

I'm praying for continuing coverage and safety and good health over him. The water and some food is iffy down there, and he has had a few times, after meals, where he has not felt good.

I miss him muchly. Please help me and pray for a quick week, for him and me, and safety and good health for him and good travels back home to his family.

I was tucking Isaiah in bed last night, and the 3rd time putting him to bed (you know, after the potty break, then he needed a drink of course...), he asked to give me a hug, and I did, and he said "I miss my Daddy". Just broke my heart.

I miss your daddy too, Bubby. I do too. :*(

Fourth of July Photos

Here are the kids, wearing their new swimming goggles we just bought them. They thought they were sooooo cool. What was really funny was when they finally took them off, the big circles around their eyes- lol

Daddy and Bubby.......at Jennifer's house (Jeremy's sister) for dinner BBQ and fireworks :)

My nephew Ben (Jen's son) watching his fireworks he was shooting off.

Lilly had her first taste of 'sparklers'. She liked it.....but one was enough for her.

The fireworks prop table we had to work with! This is all the stuff Andy and Jen had bought.

I was getting a picture of me and my honey.......and well, you know who just had to get in to! :)
Hope ya'll had a FABULOUS 4th of July Holiday!!!!

My Dream Date... with my Dream Man

Jeremy and I had the greatest time last night. We went out on a date, since he is leaving for Mexico on Monday for 12 days. So we wanted to get in one more date before he had to leave. I'm trying not to think about it too much. It just makes me depressed. So I am determined to enjoy our wonderful 3 day weekend before he leaves. He was off work on Friday, so we got lots done around the house. We were originally going to go swimming at my moms, but it ended up being cloudy and rainy most of the day, so we stayed home. Which worked out fine, since we got lots done around here. Jer was able to cross off all but 3 of the many items on his "to do" list on the fridge. Do I have the greatest husband or what? :) Then Friday afternoon, my awesome sis and bro-in-law came to pick up the kids to take them bowling and to Chucky Cheese, then back to their house to spend the night. So Jer and I were kidless Friday afternoon and all evening. :) Ahhhh......it was wonderful. ;) Of course, me, being Queen of Sleep, I took a nap Friday after the kids left. (had to rest up for Friday night, don't ya know), while Jer worked on his "list". :) lol. Then Friday night, we went to the New Theatre Resteraunt and had an awesome dinner, followed by a TERRIFIC show of the "Sound of Music". It was phenomenal. Great acting and singing, along with a very impressive stage build and costume designs. And during imtermission was of course a very yummy, yet sinful, dessert. I got the peach cheesecake cobbler......YUM! All in all, it was a great date. (and if you recall from my previous post----- there were NO trips to Hy Vee involved!) lol.

And now, it is almost 10:30 on Saturday morning, and I just got out of bed about 45 minutes ago, and my sleeping beauty is still in bed. (what would the Queen of sleep be, without the KING of sleep???!!!) :) I must go wake him now.

Hope you all have an awesome Independence Day, and thank GOD for our freedom. Enjoy special time with family and friends today. Love to all!

Monday and Tuesday I didn't get out of the house much. Just tried catching up on stuff around the homefront. So today, it was time we ventured out again. You know me.....can't stay inside for long......gotta get out and do something!

The kids and I went with my mom to a consignment store to look for Lilly a new swimsuit. She had gotten 2 new ones the beginning of summer....and somehow, they are both MIA now. I've torn this house upside down looking for them, to no avail. (hm.....maybe this is Lilly's ploy to get a new swimsuit.....?) Anyhow, we found one, so we grabbed it. Then we went and had lunch at our usual, Taco Via. (gotta love that place......although I think I actually hear the employees groan when they see us pull up......lol) Then we went back to moms house.....to, of course, go swimming. Water was a bit cold today, and the weather was not quite as HOT as it had been recently, so it wasn't as fun and relaxing as I'd hoped. Kids still had a ball though.

I am very much looking forward to a 3 day weekend with my hubby. He gets Friday off this week for the holiday weekend. yayyyyy!!!!! And the kids are scheduled to stay the night with my sis and bro Fri night.......double yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! =) Jer ordered us tickets to the New Theatre Resteraunt. I'm sooooo excited. Never been there before. Like I told my mom, I'm just glad to be going on a date that doesn't include a trip to Hy-Vee! (although who knows, we might still run by there after the show.....just for kicks....hahaha)

I'm off to do my bible study and get ready for church tonight. Happy Hump Day Everybody!
