Greetings from Michigan!

The last week has been a blur of getting into a new routine with Lilly starting preschool, dealing with cranky Isaiah (probably missing his sister), loads upon loads of laundry to get ready for vacation, packing, cleaning, arranging plans for vacation, and finally, leaving for vacation! And alas, we are here! Jeremy & I are in our previous "home state" of Michigan. The glove state. Motor City. The state by all the Great Lakes......H-O-M-E-S. (for those out of school for multiple years, or just forgetful - that would be H: Huron, O:Ontario, M: Michigan, E: Erie, and S: Superior).

I use term "vacation" loosely, because, well, I'm on vacation, but Jer is actually here for work- training. And because this is where we used to live for a short time, and I still have a few distant friends here, and I haven't been on a trip sans the kids in a while, well, I decided to join him for this work trip. And we are having a great time so far! It started out pretty cool, since we were both able to sit in first class on the plane - which gave us so much more leg room, and made the flight much more comfortable. (If you've ever been on a plane, you know how very much 'lack of leg room' is on cabin seats on an airplane!). As soon as we got here, we met up with some friends of ours at their house and went out to eat at an Italian resteraunt. It was yummy. (This is actually a co-worker of Jer's, we got together with them when they came to KC awhile back, and we met his wife. They are a sweet, fun christian couple, with 2 young boys, ages 3 and 5). Then we went back to their house and played a couple games (Clue, and Phase 10 with dice- not the cards - that was different) and had a yummy Hot Fudge Pudding Cake that Joy made for us. mmm-mmmm!

Today Jeremy (and Chris) is in a training class all day (and Thurs and Fri of this week). So I am just hanging out in the hotel room, reading, working out, swimming, playing on the 'puter, and getting out later to go meet a friend at Panera Bread. (we are just across the parking lot from Jer's training, so he walked to work today, and gave me the rental car.) :D

Oh, and of course I'm also enjoying the Peace and Quiet here, without my kids. Yes, I miss them. But it's a nice break too!! Which brings me to my BIGGEST THANK YOU EVER, to my awesome sister and brother in law and mom and dad!! My wonderfully ornery children are in their care this week! The kids are splitting their time between my sisters house and moms house. And my parents are even gracious enough to drop off and pick up Lilly from school, so she won't have to miss this week. How awesome is family? Before we left, I gave the kids a lecture, to be on their BEST behavior for Aunt Valerie and MeMa, so they'll want to do this again sometime! lol. We'll see if my lecture does any good or not! ha.
Well, it is nearing 10:00 here (9, back at home in KC), so I'd best be going and get ready for the day before I meet my friend later. Hope you all have a fantabulously awesome day!
Hugs~ Sheila
